Gibson 2017 SG Faded HP Electric Guitar, Worn Cherry

In the early 1960s, Gibson introduced a new model following slow sales of their now-iconic Les Paul. Originally intended as a new version of the Les Paul, the design was renamed the SG (Solid Guitar) when it did not get the endorsement of Les Paul himself. The SG was thinner and lighter than the Les Paul, with two pointed horn cutaways, bevelled edges, and no body binding. It became one of the most copied solidbody electric guitars in the world.

The 2017 Gibson SG Faded HP's played-on looks make it feel like a solidbody electric guitar that has been loved and played for decades and has seen the inside of more than a few clubs. However, this is a thoroughly modern, high-performance guitar, hence the HP name. A resonant mahogany body works in tandem with 490R and 490T humbuckers to produce screaming high output PAF inspired tones. The SG HP sports a slim taper profile with a Soloist width that offers a new and extremely fast feel. The improved G Force auto-tuning system is fast, accurate, great for alternate tuning, and now has even smoother and more silent gears. The SG HP also sports an adjustable zero-fret titanium nut, a lightweight aluminium TOM bridge and a fast-access neck heel which makes it a dream to play.
