Gibson 2017 SG Standard HP Electric Guitar, Cherry Burst

In the early 1960s, Gibson introduced a new model following slow sales of their now-iconic Les Paul. Originally intended as a new version of the Les Paul, the design was renamed the SG (Solid Guitar) when it did not get the endorsement of Les Paul himself. The SG was thinner and lighter than the Les Paul, with two pointed horn cutaways, bevelled edges, and no body binding. It became one of the most copied solid body electric guitars in the world.

The 2017 Gibson SG Standard HP is the perfect marriage of classic Gibson looks and ultra-modern high performance features, hence the HP name. A resonant mahogany body works in tandem with a pair of '57 Classic humbuckers to produce screaming high output PAF inspired tones. The SG Standard HP sports an extra wide Soloist neck profile that offers a new and extremely fast feel. The improved G Force auto tuning system is fast, accurate, great for alternate tuning, and now has even smoother and more silent gears. It also features an adjustable zero-fret titanium nut, a lightweight aluminium TOM bridge and a fast-access neck heel which makes it a dream to play. Chromed hardware including knurled knobs and toggle switch cap give you better control during play.
