Gibson 2018 SG Junior Electric Guitar, Vintage Cherry
In the early 1960s, Gibson introduced a new model following slow sales of their now-iconic Les Paul. Originally intended as a new version of the Les Paul, the design was renamed the SG (Solid Guitar) when it did not get the endorsement of Les Paul himself. The SG was thinner and lighter than the Les Paul, with two pointed horn cutaways, bevelled edges, and no body binding. It became one of the most copied solidbody electric guitars in the world. Popular since its introduction, the SG Junior has remained one of the essential rock and roll guitars. This special edition features improved modern playability while retaining the historic looks and the grunt and growl of the single dog-ear P90 in the bridge position. With the classic solid mahogany body and loaded with period-inspired features, like nickel wraparound bridge and white button tuners, this instrument looks and sounds like the original and plays like a dream.
