This is a highly detailed replica of a very rare original Gibson 1959 "Student" model that emerged from Gibson's desire to offer an entry level model that delivered uncompromising quality and performance at an affordable price. Very few black Les Paul Junior Double Cutaways were made in 1959 and even fewer still exist today. Collector's Choice #19 is the first Les Paul Junior to be offered in the series and is based on one of the finest of its kind that the builders at Gibson could find, Serial # 932517. It has that unmistakable P-90 tone and is hand aged to capture the personality and spartan aesthetic of the original model on which it is based.
