This is a limited vinyl LP pressing of Song For My Father by Horace Silver. Song for My Father is a 1965 album by the Horace Silver Quintet and was originally released on the Blue Note label in 1965. The album was inspired by a trip that Silver had made to Brazil. Mastered from original tapes, captures 2 tracks from a session w/ previous quintet (Blue Mitchell/Junior Cook/Gene Taylor/Roy Brooks) and 4 more from a session w/ new band (Carmell Jones/ Joe Henderson/Teddy Smith/Roger Humphries). His signature tune is a dedication to his father inspired partly by his Cape Verdean heritage.
