Vic Firth TW12 Steve Smith Tala Wand, Birch

Founded by percussionist, educator and businessman Vic Firth, The Vic Firth Company has been setting the standard in the industry since its inception in 1963. The Steve Smith Tala Wands were conceived when Steve began playing with drummers from India and needed to blend with their sounds but keep his volume down, and existing lower volume bundles lacked the rebound he preferred. With a foam centre surrounded by four flat bamboo slats wrapped in thin PVC, these wands produce unique sounds with great rebound and feel. They are unique in that they create softer sounds than sticks, yet are louder than other Tala Wand and Rute models.
