Recorded during Coltrane’s residency at the Five Spot with the Thelonious Monk quartet, the album features an exceptional lineup, including Coltrane’s Miles Davis bandmates Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums, alongside pianist Kenny Drew. Rising jazz talents Lee Morgan on trumpet and Curtis Fuller on trombone also contribute, both of whom later became key members of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers.
