About This Product

This is a vinyl LP pressing of Ancient Melodies of the Future by Built to Spill, the band’s fifth full-length album. Featuring the core lineup of Doug Martsch (vocals/guitar), Brett Nelson (bass), and Scott Plouf (drums), the album was recorded at Bear Creek in Woodinville, Washington, with overdubs completed at Avast! Recording Co. in Seattle and Martsch’s own studio, The Manhouse, in Boise, Idaho. Released in 2001 on the Warner Bros. label, Ancient Melodies of the Future captures Built to Spill’s melodic, expansive indie rock sound at a pivotal moment in their career.
