This is a vinyl LP pressing of Blue Train by tenor saxophonist John Coltrane, presented as a Limited Edition with one bonus track. The material for this legendary album was recorded during a September 15, 1957, studio session in Hackensack, New Jersey. This date marked the first time Coltrane was given the opportunity to select his own sidemen for a recording. He enlisted the support of a strong lineup, including Lee Morgan on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Kenny Drew on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums. When asked in a 1960 radio interview, Coltrane was quick to name Blue Train as his favorite album he had recorded up to that point.
