The Area J is the result of that intelligent and thoughtful design, moving away from the punchy, thunderous characters of a usual bass pickup and ironing out those textures to give musicians lows which are very clear and clean, mixed with highs that are smooth and open.

To help with this unbelievable achievement, DiMarzio have reduced the magnet-pull and included 4-conductor wiring to allow both series and parallel humbucking modes, making this diverse and focused, tightening the attack to make up for the decreased volume.
