This is a 2023 reissue vinyl LP pressing of Franks Wild Years by Tom Waits. The American jazz singer-songwriter originally released his tenth studio album on August 17, 1987, via Island Records. The self-produced album was recorded at Universal Recording in Chicago, Illinois, The Sound Factory and Sunset Sound, Hollywood, California. Titled for a play of the same name and authored by Waits and his wife, Kathleen Brennan. 

Despite a lack of mainstream commercial success, Waits has influenced many musicians and gained an international cult following. In 2015, he was ranked No. 55 on Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time". He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
