About This Product

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Keeley Electronics is proud to introduce the Compressor Plus Germanium.

The Compressor Plus Germanium uses a germanium transistor as a buffer and tone-shaping stage, not an amplifier, and that’s an important distinction. The goal isn’t to turn the Compressor into a fuzz or overdrive. Instead, germanium is used where it can do something uniquely musical: soften the edge of high frequencies and distorted signals, sustain and bloom more naturally for even more touch-sensitive and dynamic response, and saturate in a way that’s more pleasing and less harsh. All of this comes without the added noise or loss of headroomassociated with germanium-equipped circuits. Now add Keeley’s super-silent switching buffer, selectable true bypass or buffered operation, 9-18V compatibility, ultra-low current draw, all housed in a proprietary battle-tested enclosure.
