This is a vinyl LP pressing of Tell Mama by Etta James. Recorded at the legendary FAME studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, this album is widely considered to be Etta James' greatest work, successfully revitalizing her career. The album's title track, "Tell Mama," and her rendition of Otis Redding's "Security" both became Top 40 pop hits and Top 20 R&B hits. However, the B-side, "I'd Rather Go Blind"—a song James received from a friend while visiting him in prison—became the album's most enduring track. Though it never charted for James, her original version remains the definitive take on a song that has since been recorded hundreds of times by artists ranging from Fleetwood Mac and Rod Stewart to the Allman Brothers.
