This is a vinyl LP pressing of Thick Rich And Delicious by Guided By Voices. Frontman Robert Pollard, calling himself a "student of hooks," ensures the album overflows with them, playing through front-to-back like a power-pop classic. The basic tracks were cut live and hot to tape at extreme volumes in a Brooklyn studio with minimal overdubs, capturing the spontaneity and electric energy of their legendary live show. The album's promise of being "thick, rich and delicious" is delivered not only by the sound but also by the combination of Pollard's lead vocals and harmonies sung by Grammy-nominated Bobby Bare Jr. and Pollard (aka "The Self-Righteous Bros"). Pollard rounds out the set by combining new songs with unrecorded gems dating back to the band's early years, including a never-used hook in the chorus of "Oxford Talawanda" that he has sung for most of his life.
